·For each country we plot the sector performance of the main components of the economy for a period of at least 15 years to establish the relationship of the indiviual sectors and GDP. This example for the UK plots the period between 1975 and 2008. It illustrates the steady linear relationship of the sectors and GDP betweeen periods of shock to the economy.
·However, not all sectors have the same relationship with GDP. Different parts of port traffic depend in different ways on the changes in sector activity. This is illustrated in the 3 following charts, which show how some individual sectors from the above vary with GDP.
